Teresa Ascencao is a photo-based artist whose work deals with gender constructs through unique cultural perspectives and technological approaches. Often using out-of-the-ordinary interactivity, her poetic and kitschy artworks invite audiences to rediscover gender through peculiar folk and pop inspired artworks. This presentation includes three of her recent projects of varying media: the documentary-style photographs of Kodak Catholocism, the video installation of Glowing Madonna, and the lenticular photographs of Maria.
