Anthony Ch-Wl-Tas Collins, know to friends and family as "Thosh," is a member of the Salt River Pima Maricopa community and The Seneca/Cayuga tribe of Oklahoma. He is a self-taught dancer who started dancing from a young age and is a founding member Dancing Earth theater company. His influences include powwow dancing, break dancing, and capoiera. He is carrying on a family tradition of fine-art photography following his father and older sister, which has been enhanced by his training at the prestigious the San Francisco Art Institute The community he grew up in, the Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, is situated in Arizona close to Phoenix within the sacred Red Mountains. Two tribes compose the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community — the Pima, or "Akimel Au-Authm," (River People); and the Maricopa, or "Xalychidom Piipaash" (people who live toward the water). They are the original inhabitants of this area, descendants of the "Hohokam" (those who have gone), their ancestral people.
