My name is Benjamín Jacanamijoy Tisoy, my artistic name is Uaira Uaua which means Son of the Wind. I studied Art at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia. I was born in a place called Manoy Santiago, located in Sibundoy Valley, Putumayo, in the south of Colombia. My artistic work is defined by the interest in recovering my ancestors’ history. I consider that my work in the field of painting will help people understand the concept of what we call "our own" as a process of identity consolidation.
