About Us
The e-gallery presents work by visual and
performance artists working in the Americas whose art functions
as a form of social and political intervention. As part of the
Hemispheric Institute’s online journal e-misférica,
each e-gallery exhibit will be dedicated to the exploration
of this work, be it photography, mural art, painting, sculpture,
installation, comics, net art, etc. Each exhibit will feature
the work of distinguished artists from the Americas, and will
include collaborative, community-based projects and links to
artists’ websites.
In keeping with mission of the Hemispheric
Institute of Performance and Politics, the e-gallery
offers a space for this work to be known, contextualized and
archived.
